In 2020, Wynn Interactive launched their first online sportsbook in the U.S. — WynnBET. The first version of the site and app went live in New Jersey, where the new division of the Wynn empire set up its headquarters.

Wynn Interactive is a subsidiary of Wynn Resorts, the group which owns a large number of brick and mortar casinos across the U.S. and in East Asia.

Given the scale of the Wynn brand, it surprised no one when rapid expansion followed. In the first couple of years after its launch, WynnBET went live in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, New York, Tennessee, and Virginia.

The company had efforts underway to get licensed in an ever-increasing roster of U.S. states. However, the tough competition in the sports betting market and an increasing focus on its overseas businesses have slowed that expansionist spirit a bit.
